Gamers have a magical gift to discover things that designers never intended them to. In a game that’s always evolving and changing like Destiny, there are lots of opportunities for exploitation. Some, like the now canonical Loot Cave, make life easier by allowing us to skip the grind, but others are just for laughs.

Love it or hate it, the Gjallarhorn has become one of the central weapons of Destiny, an essential piece of every Guardian’s arsenal or the golden goose that all players seek. As such, Bungie has been hard at work figuring out just how to design Gjallarhorn‘s competitor and (hopefully) its successor.

For the Taken King, Destiny is crafting a suite of new exotic weapons for players to fawn over and collect. However, not all of these will be acquired randomly; some truly powerful tools will require work to unlock.

Each week, Xur turns up wherever he feels like it in Destiny, if he feels like it at all. But when he does show up, it's likely he's going to have some pretty nice items for sale, as long as you can find him. Every week, Destiny players flock to him to throw their strange coins at him to get the latest exotic gear. Destiny power leveling make you get it.

Destiny developer Bungie is promising that The Taken King will do a better job telling a story, and that's the focus of the prologue cinematic for the expansion.

Look, I have no idea how many of these Destiny: The Taken King gamescom screenshots are new. All I know is it took over two hours to download them, so please humor me and have a look at them.

"Destiny: The Taken King," coming September 15, promises to be bigger than the previous two expansions combined. And in many ways, it's an entirely new game.

The Halo creator's latest epic adventure finally touched down last September, and it's set to grow exponentially just over a year later with the release of The Taken King next month.

It’s been almost a year. Bungie has released two expansions for Destiny: December’s The Dark Below and May’s House of Wolves. In September, they’ll release The Taken King, which looks to be the most substantial addition yet.

A new PlayStation 4 (PS4) bundle prominently featuring the "The Taken King" expansion for "Destiny" and having the expansion itself is now available. As of now, players can already start pre-ordering the new bundle for the price of $399.99.
