Destiny: Adds New Weapon Type - Sidearm

Destiny's second expansion, c, will add a new gameplay mode called Prison of Elders when the add-on hits later this month, and Bungie plans to reveal more about that new endgame activity tomorrow, May 6.

The content, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg said, is being designed to appeal to not only fans of the series, but people who have never even Destiny power leveling.

With little more than a month before The Taken King expansion lands in “Destiny,” developer Bungie has provided some eye candy for players.

Last week, Bungie generated some inevitable controversy by finally spelling out their plans for Destiny weapon balancing. It included a few known quantities, Auto Rifles need buffs, PvP dominators like Thorn need nerfs

The anticipated “Destiny” 2.0 update turned out to be focused on turning and overhauling the damage and power of existing weapons in Bungie’s title. The weapon changes are a mix of feedback from the community as well as handpicked changes that the developer has decided the game needs.

The popular and coveted weapons that will be taking the hit in the 2.0 update include the hand cannon Thorn and the rocket launcher Gjallarhorn.
